FIVE thousand scooterists descended
on Ryde for the biggest
The “must attend” bank holiday date in the scooterists calendar drew
enthusiasts from all over the country and abroad and smashed the Guinness world
record for the biggest uninterrupted parade of machines.

The previous record stood at 449 machines, but organisers said more than 1,100
were in a continuous line on Sunday.
Tori Joy, of the scooterists’ organisation VFM, which brought the rally back to
Ryde, said: “In all there were 1,600 scooters in the parade but the rules state
that the line has to be unbroken and a car did break the chain.”
Two thousand people camped at Smallbrook Stadium and the rest were spread
between other campsites, guest houses and hotels, with Ryde at the centre of
the event, where traders reported bumper business and many pubs put on
entertainment.

Five of our Club members supported the annual Kippax scooter club runout, it was a lovely sunny day and a good run out. Simon also won best original scooter for his vespa thats two trophy's for the club members in the past week, I hope to have some photo's of Simon recieving his award soon and I will post them on the site cheers for now
